Role Overview:

You're joining the Integrations & Agent Core cluster, the value stream that owns our deepest platform dependencies. You'll ship features end to end across the stack: Microsoft Graph integrations (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Planner), LLM/agent work (tool calling, RAG, prompt tuning), and increasingly the systems that hold it together (multi-tenancy, the message loop, production reliability). On a team this small, breadth and independence are non-negotiable, you're not hand-held through features. You'll also mentor the Associate Product Engineer, lifting the whole platform. Your decisions shape what aicx. becomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and ship features end to end, agent tools, channel/integration work, API and data-model changes, with tests, all the way to production.

  • Build and maintain integrations, especially Microsoft Graph (Teams, Outlook, calendar, SharePoint, Planner) and other third-party APIs, including the OAuth/MSAL flows behind them.

  • Work on the LLM/agent layer: tool and function calling, retrieval and RAG (vector search), and prompt, token, cost and latency tuning.

  • Handle database migrations and multi-tenant data correctly, and help look after the custom message-processing loop (concurrency, reliability).

  • Get comfortable with the runtime and deploys (Docker, CI/CD, logs and metrics) and help keep production healthy.

  • Review code and help level up the Associate Product Engineer.

Tech Stack:

Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Microsoft Graph, the major LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic), a Weaviate vector store, Docker, and GitHub Actions. A bit of front end where needed: Alpine.js, Tailwind, vanilla JS.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years building backend systems in Python, with solid Django (ORM, views, middleware) and REST APIs.

  • Experience integrating third-party APIs and OAuth2, bonus if it's Microsoft Graph or Microsoft 365.

  • Hands-on with LLM or AI APIs (tool calling, RAG, or similar), or clearly able to ramp quickly off strong fundamentals.

  • Confident with SQL and relational data, Git, testing, and reading an unfamiliar codebase and respecting its patterns.

  • Comfortable on the operational side: Docker, CI/CD, debugging issues in a running system.

Nice to Have:

  • Comfortable working in Linux environments (systemd, cron jobs, shell, log inspection).

  • Concurrency and threading, multi-tenant or multi-database architectures.

  • Vector databases and embeddings, Postgres tuning, gVisor or sandboxing.

  • Specific integrations: Twilio, Confluence, Power BI, Dynamics.

Ways of Working:

  • We design in code, not specs. You propose via PR and iterate. If it affects multiple clusters, you write a brief design doc, one page max, in the PR description.

  • You move fast and fix forward. If your change breaks something, you own the fix. There's no blame culture, learning is the point.

  • You pair or pull in others when the problem spans clusters. But you don't ask permission, you ask for clarity.

  • You write runbooks, not Slack threads. If you fix a production issue, the next person learns from it in a document, not by asking you.

  • You push back on requirements that don't make sense. You also defer when it's clearly not your call. Both are acts of respect.

  • You communicate in writing, PR comments, docs, Slack summaries, so decisions are traceable and async. Synchronous conversation is for clarifying, not for deciding.

Du kommst in den Cluster Integrations & Agent Core, den Wertstrom, der unsere tiefsten Plattform-Abhängigkeiten verantwortet. Was du übernimmst:

  • Entwerfe und liefere Features End-to-End, Agent-Tools, Kanal- und Integrationsarbeit, API- und Datenmodell-Änderungen, inklusive Tests, bis in die Produktion.

  • Baue und pflege Integrationen, insbesondere Microsoft Graph (Teams, Outlook, Kalender, SharePoint, Planner) und weitere APIs von Drittanbietern, einschließlich der zugehörigen OAuth-/MSAL-Flows.

  • Arbeite an der LLM-/Agent-Schicht: Tool- und Function-Calling, Retrieval und RAG (Vektorsuche) sowie Prompt-, Token-, Kosten- und Latenz-Tuning.

  • Übernimm Datenbank-Migrationen und Multi-Tenant-Daten korrekt und hilf mit, unsere eigene Message-Processing-Loop zu betreuen (Nebenläufigkeit, Zuverlässigkeit).

Wie wir arbeiten:

  • Wir gestalten in Code, nicht in Specs. Du schlägst per PR vor und iterierst. Wenn es mehrere Cluster betrifft, schreibst du ein kurzes Konzept, maximal eine Seite, in die PR-Beschreibung.

  • Du handelst schnell und reparierst nach vorne. Wenn deine Änderung etwas kaputt macht, behebst du es selbst. Es gibt keine Schuldkultur, Lernen ist der Punkt.

  • Du paarst dich oder holst andere dazu, wenn das Problem mehrere Cluster betrifft. Aber du fragst nicht um Erlaubnis, du fragst nach Klarheit.

  • Du schreibst Runbooks, keine Slack-Threads. Wenn du ein Produktionsproblem behebst, lernt die nächste Person daraus in einem Dokument, nicht indem sie dich fragt.

  • Du widersprichst Anforderungen, die keinen Sinn ergeben. Du ordnest dich aber auch unter, wenn es klar nicht deine Entscheidung ist. Beides ist Respekt.

  • Du erkennst Risiken früh und sagst es sofort. Du rätst nicht und hoffst nicht.

  • Du kommunizierst schriftlich, PR-Kommentare, Dokumente, Slack-Zusammenfassungen, damit Entscheidungen nachvollziehbar und asynchron bleiben. Synchrone Gespräche sind zum Klären da, nicht zum Entscheiden.
